The Speech & Language Center at Stone Oak is seeking a compassionate and experienced Bilingual Patient Services Representative. We are looking for someone to fill a full-time front desk position, who is interested in long-term employment and stability.
- Current start date: Mid – late August 2019
- Hours: Monday-Friday daytime shifts; with availability for some evening hours
- Job Type: Full-time
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with other front office staff to manage all patient services (e.g. appointment scheduling, inquiry calls, financial or billing issues, etc.)
- Providing exceptional customer service via telephones
- Assisting Spanish-language families in person and over the phone
- Contacting health plans and verifying patient insurance information
- Addressing needs of Speech Pathologists in clinic
- Accurately inputting data into clinic practice management software
- Greeting and checking-in patients in a friendly manner
- Collecting all payments owed at time of service
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
- Preparing new patient charts neatly and accurately
- Conducting meticulous audits of inactive patient files
- Balancing nightly deposits
- Seeking continued growth of knowledge regarding speech therapy to be capable and resourceful for patient needs and inquiries
- Maintaining cleanliness of office rooms, patient bathrooms, and clinic waiting room
- Completing various office duties as assigned by Office Manager, Assistant Office Manager, and Clinical Director
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) language proficiency
- Two year post-secondary education or degree; Bachelor’s Degree a plus
- Minimum three years of experience in a healthcare office or fast-paced, highly interactive customer service environment
- Detail-oriented and meticulous in all tasks
- Possesses excellent time management skills
- Self-motivated and high energy
- Excellent organizational skills and good with multitasking
- Flexibility with change and varying schedules as necessary
- Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills and thrives in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Touch typing skill on keyboard (minimum 50 wpm)
Preferred Qualifications
- ICD-10 and CPT coding experience
- Microsoft Office experience with proficiency in Word, Excel
- Central Reach or other clinic practice management software experience
